Seth Godin argues the Internet has ended mass marketing and revived a human social unit from the distant past: tribes.  Founded on shared ideas and values, tribes give ordinary people the power to lead and make big change.  He urges us to do so.

In his TEDTalk, Seth Godin talks about people, ideas, and change.  He believes that Rotarians and others groups identify something that bothers them, something needing improving, and take action.  The mechanisms for change were industry and advertising for the past 100+ years.  These have become less effective because the internet has created islands of communities.  Seth argues by returning to the early, simple concept of the tribe we can focus on leading and connecting people and ideas.

"The very nature of leadership is that you're not doing what's been done before.  If you were, you'd be following, not leading", Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us.
