Program: Endings and Beginnings

Speaker: President Larry Levenson

Like most things, we didn't know how it would end. At our installation event last June, Charter President Judy Taunt said, “It's a year of change, the ending of a cycle and the beginning of a new cycle.” It was an exciting year, with many surprising turns in the road.

Great year Larry and the Board.  Joe's got big shoes to fill.

I also want to thank Rushton for the great programs we had this year.

While up in Oregon this past month I asked a couple of my former club members who I know make up here what they thought and nary a negavtive commentl.

04/Jul/10, 7:55pm

I just cant believe that I have attended my first meeting as an eclub member. When I first became a Rotarian in 1983 the thought of this kind of meeting would have been beyond my wildest imagination. This will be a great way to provide service to the club and the wonderful work within Rotary.

It WAS an exciting year, and it's amazing how much we accomplished and changed druing the year. I'm looking forward to some great things for our eClub this coming year. But I also have to say I'm looking forward to quieter, less stressful Sundays, since Larry no longer has to put together a meeting each week...Good luck, Joe!

03/Jul/10, 6:15pm

Great stuff - I am proud to be a Rotarian as I am reminded what we have done this year.  I hope that we all feel the excitement of being part of Rotary's future now!

It's also good to learn of the magic of the elevator.  Thanks, Bob!

LOVE the format - much more participative than other e-clubs.  Thanks for creating this club/site.  It is so important to have access to club meetings for those of us who travel often.

I think "Brain" Shaw (US) is actually Brian - his name is listed in the program.

The audio for Rotary minute had "overplay" of two or more speakers so it was impossible to hear either presentation.

02/Jul/10, 8:46pm

Thanks for all the hard work! We have come along a long way!

02/Jul/10, 7:09pm

Congratulations Larry you did a wonderful job this year, and now, Joe it’s always a challenge to start a year as a president when you see the job of the one that is giving you the courier, but time goes by fast and I am sure you will do the same or more.

Best wishes and remember you have 70 fellow Rotarians that will help you according to each one capacity.

The education comment was very interesting as we in the USA are not training young people for blue collar work. Everyone has to get a degree and start near the top to keep up with piers, not good. Somehow we, the USA, have to solve this problem also.

Congratulations on a wonderful year.  It is especially pleasing to see that the COL has made e-clubs a permanent part of the Rotary world.  Due to scheduling conflicts vaused by changes at my place of employment i was rarely able to attend my home club meetings, but was able to remain perfect in attendance through your club.  It has been a great experience.  I have njoyed your programs and I have enjoyed watching your clubs activities.  You are as accomplshed as any terra club and in many ways have a farther reach in your impacts.  Good luck to you for the coming year.

very rich with high density;congratulations Larry for growing the club from 44 to 70(it is a great honor for me to be that 70th,thank you for your trust in me)and good luck to Joe for the 100 target

It is nice to hear Larry say that our club is fully recognized as highly performing, visionnary, expanding

yes Joe,global is shrinking to a strong community;and I very much like the sayings of your father;believe or not ,mine said to me"passionate people live, other only survive"...now I have a new version from you...i like that the idea is not to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain"..great!!!I love

I wish all a splendid new year, and thank you again to have honored me as a new member

Thank you, Larry for a very detailed summary of our eClub´s growth and accomplishments during your year of service.  I will make sure to copy your summary and keep it in my file for future reference.  I believe that our eClub is well positioned to continue its growth in the furture.  Thanks again for a wonderful year!

28/Jun/10, 5:12am

Reading over all that has been done this year, we need to give Larry a standing ovation for his role as President in this critical year of our eClub existence (and our very existence was in balance until the COL met and said simply, "Well done and welcome as a full partner in Rotary." I say that same to Larry. He set the bar for any incoming President high. Next week, I will tell you all some of the ways that I set my mind (as well as found fellow Board members for 2010-2011) for this challenge.

Thank you, Larry for year well done. Thank all the Board members who will be stepping aside for a rest. Like a muscle, we need to exercise our service AND we need to rest it at time. All the members from this year Board deserve that rest- although most will not take it (but knowing that it is there certainly helps mental rest).

Again and again, thank you all for a marvelous year. Especially Larry, thank you.

28/Jun/10, 3:47am

Although I've been a member for only 9 months, this experience has been very special.  Some wonderful programs have been presented, the club responded with support for service projects, including the emergency in Haity, and its pioneering work resulted in a major decision by Rotary Internations.  Thanks and kudos to Larry and all the members who made it possible.

Unfortunately I missed my change over night this year. I really enjoyed your change over as it put me in the spirit of getting ready for the new year. I do enjoy Rotary but how true it is that " the more we participate the more we enjoy the true feeling of Service & Fellowship of Rotary".
