I found this to be a very refreshing meeting and Miss Truly Candid's column was quite hilarious and frank. I can certainly relate to her idea that mechanics should definitely adopt and live by the four-way test. Lately, it seems that every time we take our vehicle to the mechanic we need to return it a few days later with another problem. It makes you wonder about what is really wrong.
I particularly liked where she listed the different persons and places that should display the four-way test. This was especially funny that she would actually list the names of the persons and the places in citing why the four-way test should be displayed.
I also found it enlightening to learn about the origin of the four-way test back in 1932, in the company that owed $400,000 with only $6,100 in assets. It would really be a better world if all presidents would keep as copy of the four-way test under their glass and compare all of their operations to this. Certainly, this would have avoided scandals such as Exxon and the more recent BP situation.
The meeting was a nice reminder of the meaning of the four-way test. We say this each week at the meeting, and even know it by heart, but really thinking and applying it to our daily lives makes a huge difference. Thanks for an enjoyable meeting!
