AfricAid

Speaker: Ashley Shuyler
Date: Mar 07, 2011

This week's program is from one of our newer members, Ashley Shuyler.  When I first learned about her joining the club, I took a look at the AfricAid.com web site, and was so impressed with what she was doing that I contacted her suggesting we build a program for the club.  What follows is the story of her organization, AfricAid.

Ashley first visited Tanzania when she was 11 years old, and was so struck by the plight of the girls she met that she decided to do something about it.  And at age 16, when most teens are concentrating on, well, other things, she started a nonprofit to support girls' education in Tanzania.  She has been running AfricAid for ten years, and the story will make it clear that she is exactly the kind of person we want in Rotary!

Click below and learn what one of our own is making happen in Tanzania.
