Subject: Investigation of Earthling Ritual Known as Rotary District Conference
Speaker: From: Agent Xeroaxs
Date: Jun 19, 2006
While a Rotarian seems to be a perfectly normal human being, something about the District Governor’s position appears to turn them into something else entirely. I can’t tell precisely what happens, but somewhere along the way a mysterious change takes place. This report from our resident Past District Governor about the Rotary District 5510 Conference may, with tongue firmly in cheek, explain what happens to DGs when they become PDGs.

Rotary Fellowship in An Electronic World
Speaker: Fr. John R. Sheehan SJ
Date: Jun 05, 2006
As members of an e-club, we "meet" each week in an electronic environment. One of the struggles with this new way of being a Rotarian is how to engage in fellowship, which Paul Harris himself said was the most important element of Rotary. We have to re-think the idea of fellowship, sitting alone in front of a screen and a keyboard - and that means we have to explore new ways of engaging in and fostering Rotary fellowship in an electronic environment.
I have some thoughts on that - I make no claim for exclusivity, or even expertise. But there are ways that others have pioneered, there are examples of what some others have done, and in this program I have tried to bring some of them together to share, so we might have a starting point for our own explorations and creations in how to "be" a Rotarian electronically.
President's note: Fr. John has included dozens of informative links in this program and I have reproduced all of them in the body of the program. In order to use the links in the appendices, you will need to click on the download button in the program to read the MS Word document. We try to make things as easy as possible and put the bulk of the program into Adobe Acrobat as the most portable format available.
