The Nigerian Plane Crash Tragedy
Speaker: Fr. Peter Schineller, SJ
Date: Jan 02, 2006
On December 10, 2005, an airplane crashed in Nigeria with 110 passengers aboard. The story briefly hit the international news headlines in the US, reporting that 103 of the passengers had died and that the majority of the passengers on this plane were students from a Catholic secondary school in Nigeria.
A member of our club, Fr. John Sheehan, SJ, helped found the school and was assistant to Fr. Schineller for 5 years when he was Regional Superior. He walked the land to stake out buildings when it was still just brush and knew the students in the top four years. Our thanks to Father John for sending this note from Fr. Peter Schineller to us.

This Is Your Brain on Meditation
Speaker: John Janaka
Date: Dec 12, 2005
Past President Judy has submitted this intriguing program about hard scientific research being done about the apparently "soft" area of meditiation. Judy as charter president is one of the three clergy members of the eClub, and her personal observance includes meditation and yoga. Ryofu is a Buddhist priest who supplied a previous program about the Chai Way and we will ask Father John to send a program some day as well.
