Sri Lanka Devastation - Seen From Inside
Speaker: Ambassadorial Scholar David Schnell
Date: Jan 17, 2005
David Schnell is a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholar studying in Sri Lanka who joined the Rotaract Club of Katugastota. Over the course of two weeks, David sent several letters describing his experiences in Sri Lanka. Three are included in the program. These letters were printed in the REConnections, a bulletin for program alumni of the Rotary Foundation. Photos taken by David can be seen at http://www.rotary.org/foundation/alumni/reconnec/0412/schnell.html
His poignant, firsthand description of the devastation in Sri Lanka is a timely reminder of the almost unimaginable hardships that country, and others hit by the tsunami, face now - and in the future.
Rotary has set up a structure to ensure that all donations made through their program get to those that need them most.
