Skiing, sailing, mountain biking, kayaking, camping, guitar, piano, and so much more...

Professional skier, river guide, mountain guide and former mountain-bike racer. Played football, baseball, basketball during my school years. Also on Cornell's sailing team, but I couldn't get myself to call that a sport (same goes for golf).

What is your favorite book and why?
A short walk in the Hindu Kush. You would have to read it. A very funny British adventure novel.

Exactly the one I'm in.

I'd rather be on a sailboat in the south pacific or the caribbean.

Play in a rock band.

The day we sold our sailboat.

Three genies, with unlimited wishes each. It's good to have a couple spares.

What is the best advice your parents gave you?
Tell the truth, regardless of the consequences. Be kind and compassionate to all - especially the ones who are hardest to be kind and compassionate to.

What is the best advice you have given your children?
The same as my parents gave me. Always tell the truth, regardless of the consequences for doing so. Never give your integrity away. It is one of the few things no one can take from you.

If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?
An eagle or a hawk - they connect with my soul.

Describe the most beautiful sight you have ever seen:
Numerous sunsets on my former sailboat, with Van Morrison playing in the background.

Family secret for treating a cold?
Go skiing.

Where would you like to retire?
Multiple places... Our farm in NY. Our place in the Rockies. A place on a nice warm beach. On a comfortable sailboat in the Islands.
