Being Past-President was my favorite role because I enjoyed assisting the leadership and seeing my efforts in their successes.

Heat and humidity, dealing with petty drama, liver, inconsiderate and incompetent people.

What are your favorite things, in personal and work life?
Personal: Food, music & arts, chocolate, making other people smile, hiking, camping, basically anything having to do with the outdoors, and games of any sort. Work: Finishing projects where I can see the product of my work, watching the light bulbs come on in kids' heads as they learn new things.

In Moscow I take the metro or walk. It seems much safer than driving!

What is your favorite book and why?
When Broken Glass Floats: Growing Up Under the Khmer Rouge, by Chanrithy Him. This book woke me up from my mundane pre-teen life to see beyond my own, sheltered life and to begin to understand the pain and suffering that people around the world encounter in their daily lives. It challenged me to not sit idly by while others were in need.

If you could be anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
Xena, Princess Warrior! It would be an exciting day.

If money were not an a concern, what profession would you choose?

What is your favorite movie? Why?
The Lion King. It is my ultimate comfort movie. I watched it when I had nightmares as a child, when I was sick. I know it forwards and backwards and now i takes me home when I'm homesick.

"You don't like what's for dinner? Good, go make your own." Now, it means "You don't like the situation? Good, change it."

A house cat. Eat, sleep, play, pester people for your own amusement, bask in the sun, and sleep for 18 hours a day.
