Miscellaneous
What is your favorite book and why?
Wizard of Oz has a powerful lesson for me. It's been a favorite since I was 10 or 11 years old. It reminds me that if I haven't found what I'm looking for in my own backyard, I haven't really lost it. Which is not to say, I don't love to travel (I do!!!), but rather that the answers to my questions can be found as much here as anywhere and that happiness is in my heart and not out there in the world somewhere waiting for me. This lesson resonates for me. I see it again and again. I don't know why I seem to focus on this though. I just keep seeing it.
If you could meet your great-great grandparents, what would you ask them?
about their every day lives and their dreams and whether ltheir lives were satisfying.
If you could be anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
I like who I am.
If money were not an a concern, what profession would you choose?
Something in community service......which is what I do. Did I say, "I like who I am?"
What is your favorite movie? Why?
That changes too. I like "Fandango" a lot though. It's funny, it's serious, it makes a lot of sense.
What might surprise people about you?
I can't tell because then it wouldn't be a surprise.
If you could muster the courage, what would you like to do?
I'm not sure. Not that I'm extremely brave. I'm just not sure what I'm afraid of, but would like to do.
If you relive one day, which would it be?
some entirely random day........let's pick one in the Fall when it's cool......how about October 25, 2012?
If you could take only three items with you to a space colony, what would they be? (Your family is already coming with.)
lots of books, wine, computer or some way to connect to the people I love on Earth
What is the best advice your parents gave you?
Changes with the week or day. Not much is static here! Today it would be, "You'll understand when you grow up."
What is the best advice you have given your children?
They would probably say, "She gives GOOD advice? Really?" My favorite is, "You have to eat at least three bites before you can say you hate it." Works for food as well as other aspects of living.
If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?
I like the animal I am. I would miss talking way too much if I were another animal anyway.
Describe the most beautiful sight you have ever seen:
The stars from the Davis Mountains outside Alpine in west Texas where there are no artificial lights at all for miles. It'll take your breath away and make you cry.
Family secret for treating a cold?
Stay busy and pretend you feel fine. It helps.
Where would you like to retire?
everywhere.....the whole world. I want to see as much of it as I can. But I like my backyard too. Lots of native plants, a pond, a pool, birds and butterflies everywhere. I think I'll retire there too!
The world will be a better place when…
when we all really open our minds.

My birthday is May 25th. I'm a Gemini. Don't know why, but "Settings" won't save that info and has given me another birthday. Of course, I am willing to celebrate both.

Congratulations on jumping through a bit of red tape and completing your bio. Welcome...
If you enjoyed our eClub, please tell your friends about our make up meeting.
Also, if you know of someone who cannot attend a land based Rotary meeting, would you please suggest that they contact us?
