Title: Possible trip to Turks & Caicos over Thanksgiving or Christmas
Posted: 1 years ago

Beth and I are considering making a trip to our new twin club in the Turks & Caicos this late fall. Anyone else interested in joining us? Plans are very preliminary so far, but our preference would be to go over Christmas.

By indicating your interest now, you are NOT committing, but we will talk with anyone who is interested to see if we can organize a small group of us to make this expedition and make some new friends. Hopefully we will be able to come back with some good ideas of how we can work together on some matching grants and/or other Rotary projects.

Thanks. I look forward to hearing from some of you.

That is a WONDERFUL idea, PLEASE let me know if you are going,m becuase we have been there eight times, and can surely give you some advise on where to stay, how to get a car (if needed), what to do. AND I would then like to e-mail the Providenciales Club an introduction beforehand, so that they know that you are coming... Ha, maybe you can get your hands on one of their projects that they might be doing during that time, or joing one of their famous beach-parties...

Wow..... did anyone say "Cristmas and New Year" ? Do I have to work as a priest?Cry Life can be haaaaard...

If you are planning to go during XMas, remember that all hotels and resports are usually booked our two to thre eyears in advance. They do no thave mass tourism there, so resorts are small but exclusive. Quantity over quality, and I like that. It has the most beautiful beach in the world: Grace Bay Beach. There is no crime, no traffic lights, and people are veeeery friendly. That includes their fine Rotarians!

Be careful: if you want night-life, disco, shopping and entertainment a la Bahama, this is NOT the place to go!

E-mail me if you need further info. You will fall in love with TCI and will want to come back again and again. Imagine our loooong flight from JAPAN via LA via MIAMI to Providenciales every time! TCI is addictive, even for us who don't dive or so but enjoy looking at the sunset, relaxing at "Island Time".

And of course we expect Rotary outcomes from your trip!

If you go as a group, you might get a better price. their Rotary member is a manager of "The Alexandra Resort"; she might be helpful; just let me know and I'll contact her. Of course an internet seach will reveal all the other resorts in Providenciales. Let me know your choice, I know some people...Innocent

Larry, I'd be open to a fall trip.  I'd prefer Thanksgiving to Christmas, and expect the pricing will be better as well.

Keep us posted!

February works for me as well, though it might be a little close to our visit to South Africa with jono to see my family there....

How about before Thanksgiving?  Mid November?

During mid-November I will be in Houston, visiting our dear Joe, invited by his Kingwood College, where we will exhibit my pictures and where I do do some speeches, a peace forum etc. Joe is organizing this. Bless him for that!

So, November is a no-no.

AND I couldn(t possibly go to Provo without my wife. Whe loves it there, but she won't be with me in Houston.

SO: FEBRUARY Please.

LET'S GO ladies and gentlemen!!!!!!

Reading all your many responses. . . let's see who else chimes in before we try to make any decisions.

At the moment I don't know where I am going to be in August, or what doing, so I am not in a position to make any even tentative commitment.

But it is a terrific idea and once the trip plans are set, if there is ANY way I can get to go, I will work very hard to make it happen. My time (and my budget) are not my own - but I can be resourceful sometimes.

But great idea and I look forward to seeing how things develop
