When I got there, I realized how wrong I was. What a great city. I'm sure you enjoyed yourselves! Trying to get without first giving is as fruitless as trying to reap without having first sown. It does not do to leap a 20 ft chasm in two ten foot jumps. | |

I lived in DC for a year when I was with Arena Stage, back in my acting days. And I spent two weeks once as a lobbyist when I was with Pittsburgh Public Theatre. Spent my days visiting legislators, encouraging funding for the arts, got to go on the floor of the Senate to present a poster to the Sen from Pennsylvania - DC can be a fun city. And GREAT restaurants! A friend in those days (since gone to God) was the food critic for the Washington Post, and I often got to go eating with him - he'd take three other people, and we all had to order different things, so Joe could taste.
