It all started with a $2000 U.S. contributuion from our club (which included some money donated by others), matching monies from other clubs in Arizona and Oregon, contributions from our district and a district in Oregon, funds from several clubs in South Africa and a district there, and all of a sudden we had $24,000 which was matched by the RI Foundation, for a total in excess of $48,000 which go toward the building and furnishing of a rape crisis center in South Africa, part of the Ashley Kaimowitz story (see our website if not familiar).

Much thanks must go to PDG'S Rad Fischer out of Tucson and Rodney Maintzer (South Africa and Jonathons father) for their efforts in putting this together.

This is an outstanding example of what can be accomplished by an eClub as opposed to a terra club.  The joining together of so many clubs beyond borders is what has determined the success of this endeavor.  Congratulations and thanks to Lew Smith and others for this wonderful achievement.

I'm a little late chiming in here, but this really is a pretty neat achievement.

Better still is what is being done with the money.  Perhaps jono can get a first-hand look while there in March.

Trying to get without first giving is as fruitless as trying to reap without having first sown.

It does not do to leap a 20 ft chasm in two ten foot jumps.
