An Idea: a Global eProject
Posted: 4 years ago
Joe,
Thanks for that post in response to Carol. . . that was the most cogent expression of my ideas for this project that I've heard! And I wasn't even the speaker!
Truly we are moving ahead on the same path! Carol, I appreciate how this resonates with you and Tom, and I think that it will resonate with most Rotarians (not just eClubbers) once we get things moving and have all the words we need to talk about it.
Anyone know or have access to a Peace Scholar??

Is there a listing available that contains all the names of Peace Scholars? It seems to me that if one is available, it would be a good idea to contact all of them to see what their reaction would be. If we get a positive response, we could continue on this journey. If I understand our vision correctly, we would be interested in empowering THEM and we would serve as a clearing house. If there is no interest on their part, how could we be successful in trying to empower them? I am sure that RI has a list of all Peace Scholars.

When I first came up with the idea of an eProject which might include all eClubs (with ours being a leading force), I checked out the newsletters of each of eClubs around the world and had a friend of mine near the Peace Center at the university in North Carolina look into getting me information about each of those. The Peace Centers can be gotten from the website of Rotary International and the newsletter of each of the eClub can be gotten by going into the website for the London eClub.
Jack Selway also may have information about contacts that we can make to look into interest in the idea of an eProject, working with Peace Scholars (an superb idea.) I will look into my communications with Rotary International and see if I can come up with names and email addresses for us to start an inquiry.
The looking into information to begin an eProject is "an eProject."

Rotary International has been reluctant to provide contact information for peace scholars. However, Joe knows one of our RGHF founding members who would have that information.
If we chose to move forward, that Rotarian could introduce this ideas to the peace centers and also scholars.
