We just planned a wonderful one-day trip to the Grand Canyon.

Thursday 1 May 2008: First day, a fairly short drive to the mountain community of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. We've always had to rush through and this time we'll take the hot water, enjoy the small community and then a fair day of travel to the most unique motel we know. That is the Cameron Trading Post in Arizona. Run by the local tribe, it is luxurious and friendly. An Oasis.

Then we'll leave, before dawn to arrive at the rim of the Grand Canyon in order to watch the sun rise, behind us, on the view in front of us. All day walking, hiking down into the canyon, enjoy the sunset, a wonderful dinner on the rim, night in a cabin, then up early to see the canyon one more time, then off to Phoenix to visit my mother.
