Hmmm...  Bit Slinger?  Nah, no one would understand.

Telecommunications Infrastructure Development Executive?   Nah, too long.

How about I keep whatever I had last year?

;-)

Title: Classification Survey
Posted: 7 months ago

In his 1933 Radio address, from the RI Convention in Boston, Paul Harris mentioned the Rotary's Classification program as one of the distinctions that set us apart from other organizations.

One person from every line of work. After a few Councils on Legislation, this seems to be have weakened a bit. However, the classification system is for a profession and is still in the Rotary International standard operating procedures. Mine, listed here, is Public Relations. Each Rotarian is assigned a suitable classification and only the board of a club can change that. Past RI President Cliff Dochterman, speaking about membership and classifications, once spoke of creatively assigning them. Camel Tender, he said, is still an unused classification.

I can remember, in clubs I belonged to, that the secretary would publish unused classifications in hopes that they might be filled by new members.

Your Rotary Classification is the key to why you were allowed to join. Be proud of it and learn more at http://www.historysearch.org then search for the word classification. You'll find over 90 articles on the subject, including the story of how the system was started, by the same Rotarian who wrote He Profits Most Who Serves Best.

Stephen and Jono discuss 100% attendance for our eClub. I agree, there is really little excuse for less than that, but here, in a classification survey, asked for by our President Ryofu Pussel and needed for our survival as a working Rotary Club, there is absolutely NO EXCUSE.

For those of you who have not replied, please correct this mistake. This is not for our President only, and not for anyone who asks, but it is for the good of our organization (and the survival of our eClub.) By my count, we have 17 of our 43 members replying to this request from Ryofu.

My classification is Public Defense.

I suspect many do not know what their classification is. I can get a list together but not for a few days. It is really for next year anyway isn't it?

Mel

Well, yes and no. 'No' because the incoming BOD probably neds this information before they take office. I would also like to post it at our last meeting of the RI year, or before that.

I usually say, "Educational Technology Specialist".

I am a high school teacher and executive director of a nonprofit.  What's above captures some of each, I figure.
