Kids and their perspective
Posted: 1 year ago
Out yougest Granddaughter, Linnea three, has two much older brothers who are both Marines. Recently she was telling a cousin about her brothers.
Linnea asked, "Do you know my brothers?"
Her cousin replied yes.
Linnea continued, "One brother is Luke, and the other is Mathew, and they are both submarines."
Keeps you smiling

In contrast to a 'kid's perspective', I recently got an email from my friend in New Zealand (on two canes and locked into his computer in his 90s). Here is a humorous maxim from a elderly, yet young in mind senior: "Children are the penalty we pay for having sex: grandchildren are the rewards for not strangling our children."
Norm, my New Zealand sage, also sent me: "I wake up every morning in pain, therefore I know that I am still alive."
Oh, by the way, one of our new members did not know my age, 77, and told Larry, "Oh, I thought he was much, much younger." My grandchildren certainly consider me to be between 6 and 12 when we play together. I am part of the neighborhood Tiger Mole Club where I supply the popsickles at each daily meeting and the open garage with chairs.
Young is an interesting phenomena: some think that it is the aging outside whereas some think that it is all inside and spiritually mental. You can see which side I camp on. Norm is also that kind of internal young.

My granddaughter, age 3 1/2, is always being told by her Mom to be patient. She has started telling me to be patient, especially while working on the computer.
Recently while working on an art project with me, Linnea became frustrated, softly I said. "Linnea, be patient." She put her hands on her hips and retorted, "Grandma, don't use MY words on me!"
Guess I was put in my place.
