How can we promote the work on an NGO?
Posted: 2 years ago
Suppose an NGO (non-governmental organization -- like a nonprofit in the U.S.) has a global project that fits within the six focus areas of Rotary. How can we support that project? How can we leverage our support to have other Rotary Clubs support it? How can we have people in our (geographically diverse) communities support it?
For example, the World Food Programme (a program of the United Nations) has a new initiative to feed the hungry, called A Billion for A Billion. See their video at http://www.wfp.org/1billion. Hunger is one of the Rotary areas of focus, and Rotary has always been a good friend of the UN.
The WPF is creating a unique program just for us in January, talking about the B4B project. How can we leverage this? How can we expand the reach of this program?
I would appreciate your thougths and some discussion here.

How can we promote the work on an NGO?
Well, in my opinion and understanding given my years of in experience in with various NGOs. I think NGOs with real humanitarian objectives that adresses issues of global import can benefit Rotary in diverse of ways. Most especially from a Club such as ours. Our eClub by virtue geographically desperse structure and nature can and is indeed in a much more better postion to tackle both endemically protracted problems of global concern like hunger, health and of "threat" in all its facets. Just acouple days ago a young Nigeria was caught after his botched attempt to blow a Delta Airline in Detroit. Now u asked "How can we promote the work on an NGO"?
NGOs need support to intervene in various at grassroot and at global levels;
NGOs need technical capacity can built on term basis through either international volunteer support/involvement
In define and clear cases NGOs may also recieve grants/funding if they have set targets and measurable result.
Internatioanl networking and support that help it enjoy immunity even though it maybe "simulated".
Generally, the works of NGO can be promoted from myriads of ways with each NGOs locality, peculiar and legal enviroment being uniquely considered.
I would like to advise that when analysing compactability of goals to goals either being undermine or excessively exaggerated and blown out of proportion

I want to apologise in case am expressing or conducting myself according to eClub rules. I will grow in good time.
Thank u.
