Who's online?

Who's online?

We used to have a way to see who was online. Maybe it's here but I didn't see it. It was a great way to ping people for chat and comm....

If you go to the "members" tab, there's "I'm online" tags next to people's names who are online.

That's weak. What about guests? I like to go post a welcome on their page or send them a message when I see them visiting.

C'mon now. Where'd the little feature go?

I certainly agree with Stephen on all of the issues of "Who is Online."  I would also like to point out that our website is lacking tons of information about our own members.  In fact, our membership page is lacking 21 photos out of a little over 50 members.  I have checked E-Club´s One Website and all the faces of 51 members appear on their Webpage.  In a review of several other E-Clubs,it is quite obvious that we are woefully lacking in this area. Is there really a valid reason for more than one third of our members to be invisible? Any ideas on this subject?

Thanks Frank.

Even if it's not on the home page, it would be great to have the 'who's online' link.

As for the photos, I think Larry and Rushton have gotten that underway, just this weekend. Great minds do think alike! ;)

Stephen brought up the subject of "Who´s on line" a few weeks ago.  Larry provided an incentive of $100, and 6 more members posted their pictures. However, we still have some 16 members who appear with hidden identities because there is no picture posted. We need to come up with some ideas on how to get everyone´s picture posted.  I remember that when I joined the E-Club a digital picture was requested during the application process.  Why is it not posted?  I visited Rotary E-One´s website, and all 51 members have posted a picture.

Steve, I'd like to know who's online at any given time, and also how to message or post to the entire club.  I'm leaving for China, and I want to know how to find a meeting in Shanghai or Beijing to do a makeup.

If you go to the members page, it will show with a little green dot if someone else is online. I wish we had a link to a list like we used to, but we don't currently.

To send a PM to the whole club, go to private messages (link in top right hand corner of the page) and select 'new message'. To add names, click on 'address book' and then 'select all.' Voila, you will be sending a PM to all club members.

For clubs in the PRC, there are only two. One in Bejing and one in Shanghai so you are in luck. For their precise information, try Rotary's main site (link on far right of menu bar). Click on 'find a club' and put in the criteria.  Just country and 'any' will do.  Hit search and you should get an output like this:

Good luck, and have fun in China! I'm envious!!!
