Apologies

Apologies

I uploaded my Gmail contacts to a list that is being used to market the fundraiser I hold every year for The Opportunity Through Entrepreneurship Foundation. I forgot that Gmail saves everyone you have ever emailed, and several of you got a solicitation for tickets.  For that, I am sorry.  I deleted every name with a recswusa.org domain, and this should not happen to you again.

Francine,

I have never met or spoken with you.  In my case, no apologies necessary.  These things happen.  I only hope that if I ever make the same mistake that my fellow Rotarians would contact me personally, and not embarass me to the entire membership by "replying to all."

Thank you for the great work that you do.  Keep it up.

I saw the mass email club address, so I simply wrote to the eClub secretary. The "reply to all" was not needed. There's always a "history" story behind everything we do. Search for the word "boosting" at hiatorysearch.org and find that our wonderful "Rotary" was all about getting business leads for the first decade. In San Francisco, if you didn't bring your fellows a business lead, you were fined.

FYI to all eClub members.  I just read the August 2010 of The Rotarian, and there she was:  Francine Hathaway featured in one of the articles. I encourage all of you to read it.
