Why Would We Stop Being Creative?

In the meeting of August 30, Creativity: A Crisis In Our Time, some research was quoted that points out that every cell in our body, including our brains, is replaced with new cells over a period of a few years. I've heard the number quoted from two years to seven years. Since that is evidently the case, why should we grow old? My personal belief is that it is the historical assumption of the human race that we MUST grow old...and therefore stop being creative.
I reject this assumption. If my body, including my brain, is no older than a few years, then except for the accumulation of wisdom, I intend to continue to live and be creative until my purpose on this planet has been fulfilled. Even if that takes another 75 or more years.
The program states another bit of research: that 5-year olds use up to 80% of their creative abilidy, but by the time they are 12 years old, that is reduced to 2% and remains there the rest of their life. Isn't age 5 about the time a typical child enters school? To me, that is the most serious indictment of our education system. As the article says, children, and even college adults, are taught to conform and be "good citizens".
It's time we changed all that!!!

Agreed on all counts.
Especially the bit about schools. I have been very careful to countermand that without undermining (too much) of the authority. Miserly loves company as they say, so if one person (or most of the world in this case) chooses not to see fairies and unicorns, they want to make sure the magic is gone for everyone else.
A well known religious person said 'be like the children'. I'm certain he didn't mean 'wear a diaper' but rather be accepting of all others, laugh a lot, see the best in everything, trust, be inquisitive, and so on.
