Actually had some FUN lately
Posted: 2 years ago
Okay Living in Sin CIty (Las Vegas NV) is not necessarily all that sinful. I spend most of my time with my dog, cleaning house, maintaining house, refurbishing house (is there a theme here?) Rotary and other volunteer activities.
Well -- I am proud to say I met a galpal and her fella for a great dinner at Valentino's at the Venetian Thursday night. Saturday I went to t he pre-game Badger (University of Wisconsin, Madison) BLAST for beers, brats, cheese and lots of water with a great rock and roll band. Then attended the UofW v. UNLV football (USA STYLE) game. Badgers won (YAY - my parents graduated from there). Then, yes there is more, on Sunday I went to a 24 types of margaritas tasting at Lake Las Vegas. Our Favoriites? Lime Cilantro and watermelon with Tequila and one that used Red Chilis (no recipe as of yet) Then on to the best local place for Sushi -- OSAKA!
Tonight I met my 7 month pregnant gal pal and her mother in law to plan her babyshower and had a great time, chat and sandwich at CR BUNS!
Oh yes, had a great Membership meeting for RECSWUSA!
Oh finally, watched lots of college football altho my poor UCLA bruins lost.

Due to all the discussion about the forum I decided that I better "get with the program." It was fun to read about the Badgers, beer, brats, cheese... I miss UW-Madison, my alma mater also.
It's also good to know that I'm not the only one that "spends most of my time with my dog, cleaning house, maintaining house..." It's a good thing I enjoy it all! I think the minutia in life is what makes up most of our lives, but 24 types of Margarita tasting. Now that sounds great!

Hello Kim, nice to hear about you; I read your bio...Spanish teacher...great! I am a french teacher! You like cleaning house...I don't!!...I hate the housework...but I am not a slave driver...so I have to clean my house...I would prefer to read or paint or cook...anyway...I hope you will get used to going on the eclub forum to talk with us...good way for knowing everyone.
I have been in touch with Beth L., lately and learnt that she was sewing a quilt for a gift....I did not know what a quilt was until I go to the Amish country( several years ago) ...and this year, in Denver, there was a quilt contest...about 100 quilts were hunging on the Capitol building ceiling ...and I voted for my 3 favorites.
Look on this link, pictures of quilts in Denver.

Had great time, and lots of laughs, with our incoming president Carol, by telephone, this morning. The phone is an old fashioned tool that I don't use often, but this was great fun. We're planning a lunch, in Taos, New Mexico, next month. Great friendships through service.
