iPad Compatibility

I frequently crawl into bed in the early morning hours and use the quiet time to visit some of my favorite websites.  I recently tried to view this website and attend a meeting.  While the top part of the page renders perfectly, the bottom part of the meeting page had a color combination that made it almost unreadable to me.  Mind you, I am partically color blind, so maybe it is my issue.  But a different combination might work better -- and maybe others might have the same issue.

The issue sounds similar to problems I had when I tried to do a meeting on my iPhone.  Our web site is not yet mobile device friendly.  I think the issue relates to how mobile devices interpret page "scrolling" vs. the way it happens on a typical computer screen window.

These are not problems with our web site but the limits of the iPad and iPhone. These are not full blown computers. I can read my meetings from both, but cannot post on Private Messages or forums. It is the same on other sires.

Without labeling it a "problem," I think it would be highly desirable for our website to become "mobile device" friendly.  The reality is communication technology is increasingly moving away from the constraints of traditional computers.  Particularly in third world areas mobile devices may be the prime mode of communication. The changes can't happen overnight, but I think it's a very worthwhile goal and a look to the future.

Greetings.  Although I'm not a member, I am a frequent visitor for making up my missed meetings.

I too, would like to see this site become mobil friendly, as I use my iPad and iPhone extensively on many other sites throughout my days and workweek.  I can drag my iPad everywhere (almost) but certainly not my laptop.

However, thanks for "being there" for me when I do get a chance to visit.

The same issue happens with me on my iPad, but the meetings and content are amazing, and it's worth going to my laptop or desktop for that content until all the devices play nicely together in the virtual sandbox. This eClub absolutely ROCKS!

Good comments. Several have mentioned that the site should be "mobile device friendly," and while I agree, I would add that the site comes up fine on an Android (Honeycomb) powered tablet (I'm using a Xoom). For those who may be working on this issue, it does seem to be specific to Apple's iOS.

Good point, Rushton... It probably is the Apple OS. Maybe we'll see some changes down here when Steve Jobs finds out that the heavens are really an Adobe Flash shop! :-)

Fun reply! Hopefully we'll get those updates to the site soon.

Great signature, by the way.  Here's a link to a program I thought of when I read it: http://impossible2possible.com/home

This is not about iPad Compatibility, but I can't receive or send PMs on either of my computers.  Anyone else having this problem?

It's a problem with the Explorer 9 browser. I have an older Explorer version and that works fine.

Hey Kim, I think Curt's post is a good avenue - have you tried different browsers? I tend to avoid Internet Explorer, myself, mostly using Chrome and Firefox.

Thank you, Curt and Rushton.  You solved my problem!  Firefox seems to do it!

The same problem with the bottom of the page happened on my IPad 2 as well.

I know that on these postings there could well be the answer to my problem and how to fix it but the problem is "i cannot read" the bottom of the page. I am using firefox now.

if there is a solution to the problem could someone share with me and I will fix it.. or I should say have my husband fix it.... honesty ....

Everything else is fine...

Thank you so much.

I spoke with my techy son about this and he says its caused by the background color on the website design.  It can be fixed by someone who understands how this works and can be set up to detect what kind of device (desktop vs mobile device) is accessing the website.  Did someone in the eClub set up the website?  If you can give me the contact person, I will try go get this corrected.
