District 5510 Conference
Posted: 5 months ago
Planning time is here. Give Rotary a place on your calendar. Each year our club selects an event where we encourage as many members as possible to attend – live and in person! Let me know how much traction we have for getting together here in North America at the District 5510 Conference. Add your name in the Fellowship Forum. Here are the details:
It is scheduled for June 8-9, 2012 at the Chaparral Suites in downtown Scottsdale, AZ. It would be great to have a large E-club turnout. Alan Havir, District Governor will be scheduling time for our club to speak about the e-club, our service work, our fellowship, etc. Many of you know Sandy Abalos, Alan’s wife, is a member of our eClub. ALSO, Friday night is International night, which will include our youth exchange and international membership. Finally, our club will have an area in the Fellowship Hall to showcase the work we do. Based on my experience at our Foundation Dinner in Scottsdale, AZ the two weeks ago, District 5510 puts together a quality event and I will make sure our eClub members have a great experience.
Call the Chaparral Suites in Scottsdale, AZ directly to reserve for the Rotary District 5510 Conference at 800-528-1456.

Hello,
This afternoon I made my reservations for June 8th and June 9th for Conference.
The hotel folks were lovely and took my reservation without a problem.
See you then and please let me know if I can help with anything.
Warm Regards,
Doreen Berggren

Wahoo, I am so excited to see the enthusiasm and committment by our e-club members to attend the District Conference this year. DG Alan has committments from great inspriational speakers including John Blount (PRID), Michael Fisch (Rotoplast) and Dr. John Sever who is among the founders of Rotary's polio plus campaign. Entertainment includes Rotarian musicians (they are really good), Harold Payne (singer songwriter from LA) and yes...Bob Shane of the Kingston Trio (the grammy award winner, not the Rotary group). The best part of the conference will be the club involvement and participation. This is our chance to showcase our great club, meet one another, and have a great time in Scottsdale, Arizona. If there is interest, we could even coordinate some post conference trips like to the Grand Canyon, jeep tours in Sedona, or sight seeing around the city. Frances, thank you for championing this!

Larry and I are definitely planning on coming. How could we miss an gathering with so many recswusans at once and so many opportunities for fellowship? Haven't made plans for lodging yet, because it will depend on circumstances closer to the date. One possibility we're considering is bringing our RV. Any other RVers in the club who might want to join us?

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the District Conference this year. I am completing a 6 month internship at the Four Seasons Hualalai Resort on the Big Island in Hawaii. I do not yet know my date of return, however my contract is through June 30th. I wish all of you a great time!

Phoenix area members: Please tell us if you are coming to the District 5510 conference on this forum. Doreen and I are ready to make plans for added activities before, during and after the conference of our eClub. This is the big live-in-person event of the year!!! Thanks, Frances De Nuit, Fellowship Chair.

I am not sure yet if I can make it to the district conference. Need to try to work out the logistics with work. I went to the district website to see how to register and did not find a link as I expected. Can anyone offer any insight? In my old district one registered for the conference which took care of food, program and then one paid for lodging with the hotel? Is 5510 the same?
Appreciate your help. Donna Fleshman
