How Small Clubs Make a Big Impact – With Trees

The Satellite Club of Camelback Crossroads was recently recognized by Rotary International for having a big impact in their community through planting trees. In partnership with their parent Club, Rotary Club of Tempe Rio Salado, and the Rotary Club of Tempe Downtown, they planted 124 trees in one day. When RI President Ian Riseley announced his goal that one tree be planted for each Rotarian this Rotary year, the 25 members of Camelback Crossroads met this challenge. After five months of planning, committee meeting, and collaboration with the city, they host a multi-generational event. Rotarians, Rotaractors, and members of the community came together to create a peaceful space that will provide shade from the Arizona sun in the future.
